Eligibility Requirements

Wanna study in China for free? Awesome. Just make sure you hit these points for the XMU Scholarship (CSC 2026) before you even think about applying:

• You gotta be an international student. Any nationality is fine.
• For a Bachelor’s: Need a high school diploma (or similar). And you can’t be older than 25.
• For a Master’s: Need a Bachelor’s degree (or higher). And you gotta be under 35.
• For a PhD: Need a Master’s degree. And you can’t be older than 40.
• Obviously, you need to meet the specific requirements for whatever program you pick at the university.
• Language! You need to hit their language proficiency targets for your chosen program.

How to Apply (Step-by-Step)

Step 1: Gather Your Documents

• A scan of your passport’s first page.
• Your identity stuff and notarized copies of your degree certificates.
• Either your actual degree or a letter saying you’re about to graduate.
• Your language proficiency certificate (IELTS/TOEFL/HSK).
• Two letters of recommendation.
• A personal statement (at least 1,000 words, no kidding) and your CV.
• (If you’re applying for postgraduate, try to get a pre-acceptance letter from a supervisor – it helps a lot!)
• A physical examination record and a ‘no criminal record’ report.
• Any other supporting documents that make you look good!

Step 2: Fill Out the Applications

1. Go online to the CSC Online Application System. Register. Choose ‘program category type B’. The code for Xiamen Uni is 10384. Fill out the form, print it, and sign it.
2. Then, head over to the “Xiamen University Online Application System.” Register there too.
3. Upload all your documents, including that signed CSC application form. Make sure you do this before the deadline!
4. You basically need to get accepted into an XMU academic program and get the scholarship. They’ll announce the final list of scholars… eventually. Keep an eye on their site.
